Customer reviews about Balbriggan Service Centre
- Sorina Uta Added 05/01/2018★ ★ ★ ★ ★Have done all my servicing here in the past 2 years. Great staff. Had a problem with the central locking and after a lot of investigation they figured out & solved the issue.
- Therese Anderbygd Added 03/08/2017★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I brought my car to the Balbriggan service centre to get it started and serviced as it had been left standing for a number of months and I wanted to be sure it was fit for the road.
The following day I was called by the garage telling me that there was a large amount of work needed on the car and was quoted €1.5k to €2k to get it fixed.
The list included:
• Replacing 2 tyres as they were cracked
• Breaks pads
• Break cylinder
• Hand break
• Rust under both sills
• The Oil was over full
• The underside of the car was covered in rust and rot
• There were holes in from under the car into the front seat area
I was advised that I should sell the car as it wouldn’t be worth getting it fixed. The garage made a few calls for me and said there was no real interest in the car by the dealers as it was a rare model and it was in such a poor condition and no NCT, but said that the garage would take a risk and buy if off me for €800 – I originally bought the car for €3800 one year ago.
I had a friend to come with me for a second opinion who said that he did not believe it was as bad as the garage had made me believe so therefore decided to keep the car myself.
I had the car treated for rust and a bit of metal work in 2 places under the car - a total cost of about €100.
I then decided to bring it in for NCT to see what else actually needed to be fixed before addressing the tyres and breaks etc. – However as it turns out the car only failed because of the safety seatbelt on the offside and will pass after the visual follow-up test – So the 1.5k/2k I was quoted ended up costing me only €100.
I’m extremely disappointed with the service and the very poor advice I was given to sell the car. I would not go back to or recommend this garage.
